Hi guys,
I'm going to be purchasing one of the new Mac Pros with a 2.66 quad core nehalem proccesor in the next few days.
I was going to hold off for about a year but my windows system is on the way out after nearly 5years of very faithful service and I'm starting a corporate video production business so I figure now seems a good time to finally get an apple system.
My problem is the firewire 800 slots or rather the lack of any firewire 400 slots on the new Mac Pros. I currently use a DVX100 on a lot of my work which uses the old firewire.
Can I simply purchase an adapter like the Sonnet Firewire 800 to Firewire 400:
http://videoguys.com.au/shop/video-av-cables/sonnet-firewire-800-to-400-adapter-fad-824.asp
and be able to capture my DV footage in Premiere Pro CS4 the same as I would on my windows system or do I need to get a firewire 400 card???
Thanks,
Sbailey
