Hi, just bought the 410 not long ago.. and trying to use it. Is the mic input on the 410 single channel? I recorded something with a mic and it came out only on one speaker. How do I make it come out on both speakers? thanx anyone
Hmmm. The Firewire 410 has 2 mic inputs; each one is a single channel.
Mono channels are usually panned center unless you do something else, and thus would c ome out both speakers... but without information on your software, hardware, and settings, there's not much help anyone can give you. What are the speakers attached to, where is that getting it's signal from?
Well... the speakers are on output 1 and 2. I am using Live4, but on other softwares(i.e. vegas) the recordings also comes out only on 1 speaker. So how do u make the recording come out on both speakers? I know vegas has a combine function that makes it come out on both speakers.... but how to make it come out on both speakers on all recordings(not have to go in vegas and use combine function)? seems like a dumb thing isn't it, your recordings come out only on one speaker.... realize M-audio makes some dumb things.... I have the Radium 49 too.... and realized it too is a dumb thing; it doesn't memorize settings....so every time u turn it on, have to reset everything. sigh
..you need to set up the track your recording to as a mono track from the left channel within your audio app, then it wil recognize it as a mono scource, instead of trying to pull stereo audio from it,, in the case of which it will only record to the left channel. . then it should play back fin e panned center on both l + right speaker outputs.
ok.. the 410 is not dumb after all.... I got it working now, actually it's a nice sounding piece... aside from the not well aligned knob/face mount construction... and the accational blip in sound resulting have to restart winamp or maybe restart computer to get it back to normal. But the BX5 is too cool; little speakers big sound good bass. that's probably the best M-audio product... aside from the fungi that's growing around the creviss of one of my BX5's... and the sony v150 headphone is nice too only 16bucks.. sounds better than the 100 ones, the sound is comfortable, the others are not. anyway thank you everyone, now my N3 is fine and recording is fine
