Firestore users belt clip

I've been using the on camera mount setup for my firestore. And it works great, no dropped frames or anything. The only issue I have is that it's insanely heavy for me to carry. I tried the belt clip and frames started to be dropped. Are there any old time firestore users that have any tricks in terms of attaching the firestore, not to the camera, but to themselves so their lower body can carry the weight and not their shoulders? I thought about buying a waist belt, anyone??

That's weird, are you using a different cable? Is the cable connector perhaps getting nudged on your belt?

You have to anchor the Firewire cable or at least loop it around the belt so there's no strain on the connection. This is cable connection 101 stuff. Don't let cables hang off a connection or allow any kind of strain on connections. Always, always, always, anchor the cable to something immobile near the connection or at least loop it around something to relieve stress on the jack/plug.

I use the belt clip all the time and I've never had a problem. Of course, if you're running or jumping up and down with the FireStore on your belt, you might have a problem.

I'll try wrapping the excess cable around my belt. I was letting the excess dangle so there's a high possibility something was irritating the drive resulting in the drops.
