Firestore Raw DV files not dropping into Pro 8

Hey all,

I hope somebody can help me with my problem.

I borrowed a friend's XL2 while I shot with my pair of DVX cams.
The XL2 went to Firestore and, trusting my friend, footage was captured in RAW DV format.

The footage plays well enough in Windows Media Player and VLC but won't drop into Vegas Pro 8 at all!
The footage is .avi and indicates a dvsd codec.

So, anybody have an idea what's my problem? Do I need to install a codec or convert the footage?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

**UPDATE**

I wound up thinking, after a couple of drinks that, maybe, just maybe, my footage wasn't captured in DV RAW but in DV-AVI Type-1 or Type-2.

Turns out, with the assist of GSpot it was Type-1...not readable by Pro 8.

So, I downloaded a little program called DV Converter that will transform Type-1 to Type-2 and, voila! It works. Now to convert 7 hours of footage. Oy!

Hope this helps someone else who has a similar issue with Firestore captured footage.
