I've just deleted my first Firestore clip....but was wondering what else I can dump. Here's a screen shot of my Firestore's contents.... What can I dump and not screw anything up?

I would dump all the Beverly Hill Billy Folders. Keep Melanie (especially the pix)

Wouldnt touch the FS contents

....nooooo......I LOOVE the Beverly Hillbillies....such fond memories from my childhood......and Melanie is Mitch's (my iPod) companion....then there's the creepy Mrs Bundy..."Birds have been on this planet, Miss Daniels, since Archaeopteryx, a hundred and forty million years ago. Doesn't it seem odd that they'd wait all that time to start a war against humanity." .....anyway....no one with answers about the Firestore?..... I guess it's all moot....it's going back tomorrow.

Don't delete ANYTHING from the FS-100! It won't do you any good, and you may totally screw up the software. Why do you want to selectivly delete stuff from your FS-100? Just reformat when you're ready to re-shoot. Why are you deleting individual files on the FS-100?

...The ONLY thing I deleted was a clip I didn't need. I used the delete clip function to do that. What I was mainly asking was if there was extra stuff in there that I didn't really need... sorta like an internet cache on your computer. That's all......I may goofy....but I aint no dummy.... :2vrolijk_08:

Oh, ok, if you delete clips via the menu, you're safe. Aside from that, there's nothing else to manually delete that will do you any good on the FS-100. No caches or anything.

....right o'......thanx so mulch.

As BenB mentioned, the Delete function should only be used when absolutely necessary. It is best to copy off required content and then reformat on FS-100. This will keep the drive as clean as possible and prevent issues due to fragmentation. Also, you should never clear space on the FS-100 by connecting to a computer and simply dragging clips to the trash. Always use the FS-100 format function.

I am not saying that delete cannot be used, I am just saying use it very sparingly.
