FireStore partitions

I bought a used FireStore 100 to go with my HVX. When I mount it, it says has 2 partitions, both with the same name. One partition shows 101 gigs and the other shows 59 gigs, odd given that the drive only has 100 gigs. So I am a little suspicious that something is amiss and am thinking I should reformat the drive. However, I already have a couple hours of video on it so would need to transfer that to another drive first. Any advice?

I use a MacBook Pro with OS 10.8.

transfer your footage, then format - JUST internal formatting!

I used the FS utilities to format the disk but it didn't help. Disk Utilities on my Mac show 2 partitions with the same name, one with 101 gig and the other with 59 gig, same as before.
