Hey guys,
So we're doing 2 tv projects over the weekend with the HVX and FS100 in 720 24p being recorded to Quicktime PN. We check the clips and playback on the HVX is fine. There is one longer shot that looks corrupted. It's shot #93 of 96. The menu says "Disk 1 080min." I assume we have over 60-75% of the drive being used and have heard before of drop outs on clips towards the end of the drive being filled up.
Now we've successfully hooked up and transferred footage in the past, so we know the process. We take it to transfer the footage off the FS100. We hook it up per instructions to our intel mac, imac, powerpc, a pc laptop and desktop but with no avail. It does not show up at all on any computer. Although the unit reads "FAILED" 2 times when we first try and "SUCCESS" on the rest. We troubleshoot with changing cables and buying new ones, repairing clip and repairing disk. Nothing helps. We get excited when our desktop pc reads it as a Panasonic DV camera, but still the drive does not show up.
Starting tomorrow we have a 2 camera shoot for the next 4 days and will have to revert to using p2 cards. Thank God at least they work. But if anyone has similar experiences or advice, we'd love to hear it.
