Firestore Footage

I'm working on a film at the moment and a different DP did reshoots with an actor for a scene in the film. The entire film was shot using P2 card and I've had no problem editing those. The reshoot DP delivered the footage to me, but he shot using the firestore. Now, the files I got were not organized in folders like the P2 card footage is. They were just straight MXF files in one folder. Every time I try to import this, it either crashes my editing program (I've tried Premiere and Sony Vegas) or it gives me an error about audio (in AVID).

I'm not sure how to proceed... Does anyone have experience with the Firestore for the HVX and how I can get the MXF files to work properly?

Thanks!

If you have access to a FS-100, just copy the files back onto it, use the ORGANIZE P2 function, and then copy the files back to your computer.

If you don't have access to a FS-100, there was a post here some months ago on how to manually organize the files. It is doable, but if I recall correctly, it will be a major pain in the butt.

You could try contacting Focus Enhancements and see if they have a standalone utility to perform the ORGANIZE P2 steps on a computer. If there is enough interest, I could write such a tool, although it would be for the dreaded Windows platform.
