Firestore can not organize P2 files for FCP

My friend and I shot a commercial on a HVX-200 in 25P inside 1080i/50 and recorded on both P2 cards and a firestore FS-100. Our desktop Mac is a brand new intel based one so the AVID software will not run. So we try the FCP route. The shots from the P2 cards import fine into a 1080i/50 FCP project. The files on the FS however stays in a folder called "20030802-171441-01" and using the the ORGANIZE P2 utility on the FS does not change this. We tried deleting everything but the folder containing the footage files on the FS and running the util again. All we get is an empty CONTENTS/VIDEO... etc folder structure. We also tried different names for the source folder like "REEL1" etc.

Does anyone know how to get "un-organized" .MXF files into FCP ?
Or how to make the FS-100 organize the files ?

FCP is version 5.1 and we are currentrly tying to get the 5.1.2 upg.

ring meg -;)

If you have deleted the files you are in some kind of trouble I'm afraid.

I seem to remember that Raylight could read the mxf files "as is" but have never really tried it.

You should really, really, really get the 5.1.2 upgrade....

Thaks for your reply...

I found out what was the trouble... The material had been organized for Avid i a folder on the hard drive. Apparently Avid does not need the log-files to organize the material. There for there were no log-files in the material I loaded back into the Firestore. And it couldn't perform a proper P2 organizing... Luckily I had kept a backup of the original material, including the missing log-files...

I'll get the FCP 512 update anyway :)
