Firestore battery not charging

Hello Barth,

Check to see if the gold pins that make sonnection to the battery are in tact. We have heard of them breaking sometimes.

Best regards,

....well...whadya know..if I'm supposed to have four...I would say that's the issue.....seeing as I only have 3...:huh:...What the hell!!!??...First the battery issue with the HVX....now this...Folks, lets build some gear that holds up for more than 24 hours, huh?? ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!!!

Hi Barth,

There is only 3 battery contact clips on FS-100 (even though there is four openings...the fourth is not used on FS-100). Does a red light appear on the top of the unit when charging? This is an indication of a charge error. If it does, please contact support as your unit (or the battery) may have an issue. Options for contacting support can be found at http://www.focusinfo.com/support/contact.asp .

As an FYI, susceptibility for battery clip breakage affected only some early units and this issue has been solved in production.

Hope that helps.

Matt

....Battery is going back tomorrow. Hopefully that's the issue and not the unit itself. Thanks for the help.

You might as well try to switch it out for the larger capacity battery while you are at it.

Yep ... the first time I popped a battery off my one-day-old FireStore, the middle battery pin broke, rendering the whole thing unusable. It was shipped back for a refund the same day.
Too bad, I was going to test it on a film trip through Cambodia the next day (I know, never try out new equipment on the road).
I'll try the next generation of hard drive solutions; hopefully someone will have made something more reliable.
