Has anyone got this? It looks like an interesting product but I don't edit in Edius so I have to check I can encode with it still. Is there any standalone application for encoding files it comes with? If so can it batch? Is it stable?

What type of control in the data rates and encoding options are there? Can you do multipass H.264 encoding etc?

Does Encore CS3 play nice with its output H.264 files?

How is the quality of the H.264 encoder (at what bit rates does it start falling apart?)
 
While Firecoder Blu can be used by EDIUS for certain outputs, it is primarily a standalone product, so it has its own conversion software called Firecoder Writer.
 
Sounds good, is Firecoder Writer PC compatible and fully featured (ie its not limted to say single pass while Edius can do multipass etc)
