Finding the right export settings with Premiere Pro for Canon Footage?

Hi,

I am new to shooting with DSLR cameras, and I've recently purchased a Canon T3 for some video work. I'm having some major problems with rendering out my footage using Premiere Pro, and I was hoping for a bit of insight. I've converted the raw Canon T3 footage (1280 x 720, 25p) using Cineform Neoscene into AVIs, and there is no lag in editing--looks great. However, when I try to export, (same frame size, same fps, as an AVI with Go-pro Cineform codec), the output file significantly drops in quality and there is major lag. What could account for this, and how can I fix it?

Something tells me it's the Go-Pro codec. Perhaps it's for acquisition only? How does it look with a standard output codec, such as H.264?

Did you check "match sequence settings" in the export dialog? Also might try exporting to a different physical hard drive than where the raw footage media is located. Lastly, if you're exporting to a different CF quality level, that might cause a lag too.
