Hi!

I am mostly in the bussiness of music-videos.
Since the bands don't have so much money, we always try to get some sponsors or put some product placement in the video..

Do any of you have a sample of the Project proposal / Sponsorship proposal.. there we should written down:

-who we are
-what we wants
-what we can offer
-etc

any other thoughts, what can we offer to the sponsors in the case like that

;any thanks!!

I have always had good luck just contacting corporate offices of some of the larger stores. We did a scene in Panera a few yrs ago. Not only did they feed the 38 person crew, twice for free.(anything on the menu) They also gave us free rain of the store to shoot anyway we wanted, we had to show the outside store front, and the Panera sign in the film. Other than that it was simple. I have shot in a good many locations the same way. The same goes for gear makers. They sometimes will send you gear to use or try on set, to get feedback of how it performs in real world enviornments. So there's two ways to aquire some sponsorship.

You need to clearly show what they get it out of it as well. Your needs, their needs, etc. There are the tangibles that the first post speaks to. Give us money to put your product in the video. That is a straight up marketing expense. How would giving you $500 to make a music video in exchange for my product being in the video get me more eyeballs and in the end more customers? Then there are the intangibles you can use in the negotiation process - in addition to the product in the video, the band will say how cool "the vendor" was to work with, eat, drink or whatever the product is. Nothing like word of mouth in certain demographics. Also, depending on vendor, in addition to cash for placement, perhaps you shoot some extra video for them to use for their own needs, testimonials, etc that will benefit them in some way. Lots of ways to look at a deal where both sides can come away winners. Looks for needs versus assets in what each have to offer.

The Panera posting is a great example, and I am happy to see that a chain allowed that to happen. For example, Starbucks has a much stricter regulation about shooting in, around a Starbucks. On my last film, the manager of the local Starbucks was so enamored with the genre film I was producing, he provided coffee, tea, and snacks every morning to pick up for the shoot and did not want credit or to be mentioned. So sometimes you get corporate air cover or you find personal contributors within those corporations. It's about keeping your options open, being professional, and looking for something that might be better than the original proposal.

Proposals have set formats in the business world. Research this on your own. I'm not going to cover format.

As for content, the above nails it. Companies don't care about you. Include hard numbers on exposure, detailed demographics regarding the target market, and connect those by describing exactly why that number of that target market is perfect for their brand. And be sure to call. The written proposal makes you seem like you know what you're doing and are handling this in a professional way, but it's generally supplemental to your personal contact. I sometimes stick with just email, but the idea is the same- make a connection. They have to trust you with their brand, so they have to trust you as a person.

thanks!

I agree with all the points you say.. I worked that way till now, and I want to get on the higher level.
Yes, you can get location, food and dress from sponsors.. But sometimes they are willing to give some money also.

I work that way, that I call first and let them know what I want..and if they are interested or partly-interested, I should send then written project/what I want from them.
So, if you want to stay profesional in their eyes, those proposal should have apropriate form.

Lady Gaga, Beyonce and all other big stars have music-videos stuffed with sponsors..why shouldn't even we, small productions use that.
it is the praxsies, that when I get sponsor for music-video the money goes into my pocked ( for production ) and the musicions simply gets better video..

so, I must google for "proposal form"
