Finding Potential Clients

What's the best way to find potential clients? Besides Cold Calling.

I'm looking into doing Commercials, Music Videos, Shorts, and Very Low-Budget Features.

I have a Canon HV30, and will be renting a Letus Mini and additional equipment, until I can afford to purchase a AF100. I'll have to charge about a minimum of $1000 to every single client in rental fees.

I've read that over about 10 times, and all I get out of it is to cold call... which I've tried. And all I get is "We have in-house video services." or "We don't advertise, at all" or "...only on Radio or in the news paper.".
