Finding a composer

I friend of mine has asked some friends for suggestions on finding a composer. I do see there are folks here who have advertised their availability, and that's one possibility. Any other suggestions on finding someone to score a short?

Thanks.

My friend could do it, I could ask him if he'd be up to before and let you know then?
(For free or..?)

Yeah, browse around here. Seems like every week there's a few more composers posting ads here. I bet a forum search for "film composer" wil find heaps of options. Just check everybody's work out, preferably with video rather than just listening to music (cool music ain't the same as good scoring, and music in the style you're after doesn't necessarily equal a good film composer), and get the most experienced person with the best narrative sensibility you can find for whatever you can afford.
