Fincher's look his or his DP's?

I find this extremely interesting. All over people are asking about the "David Fincher look" but is it really "his" look or his DP's?

(I actually think it's the grading).

Would love to hear other people's thoughts on this.

My opinion is at the level they are; it is a collaboration. I would guess he is very clear about his vision to the DP and his DP works that way all the way to grading. He can have any DP he chooses at this stage of his career so I am sure he is looking for good collaborators who will convey his vision while searching for new DP's for different projects to benefit from their experience.

I find it interesting all his films are shot on Red a camera system many on this forum think is crap.....yet he continues using them?

Are James Cameron and Peter Jackson using RED simply because it's the easiest live-action 3D rig ?
