I've been here 20 years...and have yet to actually make to the Czech Rep. Sheesh. It's all of maybe a 5 hour drive to Prague, too.

But Vali wants to travel a bit, so I'll probably finally get there.

Have NO idea why the E-European women look so good. But not complaining, either. (Although it no longer matters. No. Really.)

There are two answers, one is short, one is long.

1) Public transportation, walking, home cooking, lots of sex (vs. cars, driving, eating out, sexual harrasment)

2) East meets West - throughout the centuries, armies from all directions swept back and forth through Eastern Europe many times, each time leaving behind some of their genetic pool. A friend of mine shared a story with me about his trip to Bratislava (capital of Slovakia for the geographically challenged) one day:
"Why is it that every time I cross the border from CZ to SK, women seem to be more beautiful there?" To which his driver answered: "That's because the Turks made it to Slovakia, but not to Moravia and Bohemia (the lands of Czech Rep. - for the geographcially ignorant ;))". Apparently, ethnic mixing is the magic.

Too bad I won't be alive in a couple of hundred years. It's a real ethnic mix out here in Canada, and it has been noted that, especially among the younger generation, Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal are full of lookers. It's only gonna get better (if they won't all get fat and ugly from driving and eating out ;))
