Finally Making The Upgrade! Help Me Shop

I've been a longtime DVX100 user. Probably since the camera's inception. I'm accepting an offer to be head of video production for a new website. I will be building their modest studio in addition to shooting and editing everything. So I need to buy a computer, deck and production monitor for post. That's probably easiest; however, there are so many options for the HVX200 and accessories.

Here's what I'll be doing:
• In studio interviews, product reviews, stand-ups, etc
• On-location interviews, packages, stand-ups, b-roll, etc

I really want to bring the DOF look to this company as we're dealing with grandparents and grandchildren. I feel the DOF look will apply nicely. Even for Internet video.

My goal is to provide a nice studio rig for the business which can also scale down and travel. In addition to shooting business related stuff I will also be shooting rock concerts as a hobby (with 35mm look).

My shopping list includes:
• HVX200
• Lavalier system (2) (2 sets of Sony UWP-C1?)
• Firestore FS-100 DTE
• Tripod Leg/Head
• Small Mixer (minimum 4-channels)
• HD Video assist (Marhsall 7" HD?)
• 35mm Adapter (M2?)
• Rails, Rods, Mattebox (Cavision? Zacuto?)
• Batteries

I will be providing the gear I've collected through the years: DVX100, 4-piece ARRI light kits (2 300s, 2 650s, 1 1000), 7 Inky 100s, Senheisser shotgun, boompole, stands, sandbags, green screen, gribs, clamps, tripod, Porta Brace wheeled production bag, Porta Brace DV organizer 2.

I'm really trying to lay everything out so you folks can see the overall picture. I'm trying to keep the budget between $20K-$25K for everything. I'm guessing the computer will eat up $9K of this (not including the broadcast monitor).

I welcome any and all responses. Thanks!

Sounds like a good plan. I have had some issues with Sony lavaliers however. I would look elsewhere, even though it may be pricier. Also make sure to budget for a decent dolly system and crane.

Which website is it? Helps to know to evaluate suitability of 35mm look.

Can't reveal the website quite yet. My apologies. I will once permitted to do so. Why do you recommend a dolly and crane. I feel like those are luxury items to be purchased later. Prove me wrong though. What problems have you had with those particular Sony lavs?

I'm considering going with Zacuto baseplate system now. Also considering the Ikan 8000 monitor and adding the M2 follow focus to the rig.

A dolly is never a luxury, imho. Greatly enahnces production value. And you can make a good one for $100 or so. Cranes are not so cheap of course, and for a 35mm you will need a setup with a good screen for focus.
