Just finished setting up my workstation!! :)

Mac Pro Dual Quad-Core 3GHz
Currently 5GB RAM ( Two of my 2GB sticks I bought were DOA, waiting for RMA)

150GB Raptor Boot Drive (Came with 250GB Hdd, but I replaced it)

Just color calibrated the monitors yesterday with my Spyder2PRO.

I am one happy camper. :thumbsup: I've been playing with Soundtrack PRO and Photoshop mostly, but I'm going to work on a 720P Promo that I shot on sunday :) I'm probably going to look into getting Cinema4D eventually also. If you guys have any questions about my set up, feel free to ask! :)
 
Hey Mike I am new to all this FCP and editing thing.Couple of questions;
Can you do pretty much everyhing with your set up?I am going to shoot a feature with HVX soon and I would like to have my own system as well.
Can I finish my film with your system without going through any other additions?BTW I am not the editor.I have a couple of them.What I am doing is getting some feed back to what I can do and arm myself with some knowledge.
And lastly I came croos this one .What are your thoughts about this system?Is this a complete system or what would you add or subtract from it?

That looks like a pretty complete system, but probably a lot more money because its all a kit like that. I've got probably around 10K in mysystem, and its better than that one, but doesn't have the AJA card or the 50" plasma, which is probably a big chunk of it hehe.

What does the AJA card do anyway?

I'm not 100% familiar with the AJA card, but I assume its a different interface for hd footage. With P2 workflow, you don't really need it, I assume.
