Finally got HD... Aaahhhhh!!!

Well I went and picked up one of Samsung's new DLP HD sets... got the HD signal piped in here last night, and all I can say is WOW. Picture quality as good as plasma at half the price (even with the lossiness of digital cable delivery). Can't recommend this set higher. Just had to share ;)

I was at a pub (really. In San Diego, an Irish pub) and they had an HD baseballgame being broadcast in HD on their Flatscreen and I was floored at the resolution.

Welcome Kai...HD is awesome..even with digital cable. I am on Digi Cable HD too and it seems to be about the same as Sat HD. That samsung is a sweet TV..enjoy!!!!

whos your HD cable provider? up here we only have 4 HD channels (all US lol) and the quality completely blows.. a little too much quadruplexing going on I think.

I'm on Time Warner and we have 14. Also, all the local stations broadcast digitally, so I can pick up, say, the WB and UPN in HD, where it's not carried on the local cable lineup.

I'm on Cox digital down here... there's probably about 10 or so HD channels right now...

Anyone used Voom network? They have like 30!

voom says they are using lower compression than everyone else, would be interesting if anyone has tried them yet.

Yeah, I wonder how well that compnay will do...With Comcast I have about 10 or 12 HD channels and they all come in crystal clear on my 50' plasma.

Fifty feet? Methinks not . . . ::)

I have 55" rear-projection, because three years ago, it was the most cost-effective large HD available. And in all honesty, I still think it looks more film-like and less digital than either plasma or LCD. I've been very happy.

Sweeeet! Congrats Kai. My dad has a huge panasonic plasma taking up half the wall... I'm so jealous ;D
