FINAL DRAFT software - Keeping your TITLE PAGE

Any Final Draft experts here? I've been using it for a while but it won't save my Title Pages. Period.

I can create a title page in the program, but it won't save the page when I save the script as a PDF, or print it. It just prints an "untitled" Title Page by unknown author, etc...

Does anyone else have history with this problem or, better still, a solution?

Thanks

In the Preferences there's an option for: Saving PDF includes title page. Check the box.

Thanks. I'm having trouble finding the box, though. Hate to be a burden but I was wondering if you could give me a quick step by step.

All I've found is under TOOLS there is OPTIONS but I couldn't find anything pertaining to saving PDFs.

Annoyingly enough, it actually says in the Help section of the program that when my document is saved, the Title Page will be saved as well, which so far has proven to be untrue...

Here's what I see in my Preferences pane on Final Draft 7:

Thanks. I figured out why I am having trouble using your advice. You're working on a Mac, which has a "Preferences" box. On a PC, there is Tools-->Options, which has no references I can find in it to PDF saving...

Ugh...

Anyway, I definitely appreciate the effort you've put into answering my question but it appears that a Mac-PC difference is standing in the way...

And apparently I need the PC solution...

Yep, I had this problem as well. Basically, when you go to your title page and write out your title; after that just exit the TITLE PAGE, NOT the whole .fdr document just that title page. You can do so by clicking the X button that should be in grey as opposed to the other one which is in another color.

Please reply back, to say whether this worked or not....it should.

BTW, it's in the options

Go to Tools > Options> Document Tab > Include Title Page

Also a hint

If you're getting the regular template as your title page in the PDF, close your title page in the program, and just export the main script page (but don't forget to edit the title page first for that script, save, and then close title page)

Wow, just exiting the Title Page did work. I must have tried some very similar things in my attempts to solve this problem, or even tried it and then not exported to PDF to check the final result but yep, it worked. Thanks.

Regarding SimonB's tip. We may have a slightly different version or something. My Tools > Options > Document Tab only features 3 choices...

- Enable Smart Quotes
- Break Dialogue
- Automatically Generate Cast List

This is one of the only bad programming decisions I've ever experienced with Final Draft. Took me forever to figure out what was going on with my title pages. Whenever I see another screenwriter's script with a blank title-page template in the .pdf or .fdr file, I always enjoy a knowing chuckle.
