Final Cut Studio - Available Again!

Yep it's official though sounds like if you want one you'd best hurry:

‎"As we've done before with many end-of-life software products, we have a limited quantity of Final Cut Studio still available through Apple telesales to customers who need them for ongoing projects," an Apple spokewoman said in a statement provided to Macworld."

Why would anybody buy it at that price and not get any support any future upgrades ?

Rob.

Yep- it's basically a firesale. No upgrade price, limited to stock on hand. Still it's now the only official way to get FCS 3 if you didn't have it already.

I don't understand the 'stock' thing, this is software, all they need to do is simply burn some disks and put them in a box, or have it as file downloads from a website. It's not like the Final Cut Studio software is a product on a shelf they need to 'get rid of'. The physical materials in the box, including the box, is probably $15 bucks.

I'm sure it would be very worthwhile for them to have a link to upgrade to Final Cut Pro 7 from 6 for $299 (the price of FCPX full product). The only reason I didn't upgrade from FCS2 to 3 is because I was going to wait for FCS4. But that never happened, ha!
