Final Cut Studio 5 + Shake 3.0.1

May be able to get a cheap older version of Shake. Will it still play nice with the new version of Final Cut or are there compatibility issues?

Thanks.

So they won't be able to import/export directly into each other but I could save the files and just manually open them in the other program, correct? Would it even be worth getting v3 to practice on?

You'll be able to export/import quicktime files, image sequences, etc... you just won't be able to open FCP projects in Shake. Quicktime and image sequences will be no problem.

exactly. And, yes, if v3 is cheap I'd get it. You can always pay the slightly-more-than-minimal upgrade price to 4.

If you aren't, can you send me the info? I've been using (ahem... ) work's copy at home. They never knew how to use it anyway!
