Final Cut Server, CatDV, or something else?

I'm looking for a software solution to manage and share media files for a team of 10 editors.

Anyone have a preference?
 
Both of those are CATALOGING options, not SHARED STORAGE options. YOu need to look at something like EditShare, or SanMP, MetaSAN, XSAN... a server connected to shared storage then then feeds all the computers. And you'll need to hire someone to install it. So best to find someone that does that.
 
Yes, and the people that install it have differing opinions on the software to catalog the files. Do you have a preference?
 
I have never used CatDV personally but I have heard many good things about it. I have tweaked around w/FCSvr a little bit and quickly came to the realization that it would require a lot of customization and coding to shape it from the generic state it ships in into something useful. IMO you need to be connecting a lot of people to a lot of media to make FCSvr worth the effort. You should also check out EditShare. They offer both shared storage and asset management products.
