Final Cut Serial Number

I have FC5 and have lost my serial number. I threw away the boxes and cd sleeves and inserted all my information in a word document. I recently deleted that file and have tried to get it back with no luck.

I am not asking anyone to give me a serial number. All I am asking is, how do I retrieve mine. I had FinalCut4 and when you clicked on "About Final Cut" in the top left, it would give you your serial number. Or when you were connecting to FC, it would also display your serial number there. Final Cut 5 does not have that option.

My program is fully registered, not bootlegged or anything like that. How can I get my serial number back?

You're kidding right? Every time I see one of these posts, I suggest- call Apple and they'll help you as they would any registered owner. Yet somehow that person has forgotten how to dial a phone... :nads:

Noah- I would have called Apple, but I would rather see if there is a way I can find out how to retrieve it without having to pay for technical support. I have searched this board for anything relating to this, but have found nothing. If it bothers you to see these posts, why do you respond?

Zak- The serial number would appear on the splash screen of FC4 but not on FC5 (at least not on mine).
 
There is no charge to get your serial number back from Apple if you're actually a legit owner. You can email them or call them any time and they'll help you with this sort of thing free of charge.

These applications represent a lot of blood sweat and tears from the folks at Apple, so forgive me for not giving you the benefit of the doubt. I've been down this road too many times to *not* respond.

But if FCP is launching and getting you to a splash screen, there's no need to look for the serial number some other way because you'd already have it. So, sorry but I just don't believe you. Unless you're trying to reinstall it on another machine, which would also be in violation of the user agreement.

You do not have to be so arrogant. I don't care if you believe me or not. My serial number did not show up on the flash screen. Everyone else said theirs showed up, so it must have been a problem with mine. I called Apple and they have resolved it. Some people are so bold sitting behind a computer screen.
 
You really cant argue with them - it looked like you were wanting to find a way to get a SN without having one. Glad Apple could help you out.
 
Ssssh im hiding behind my 23inch cinema display its big enough to hide even my ample frame.
 
I can't believe how cynical some of you are. I would normally ignore you guys but, I paid for my FCP software. As I stated in my original post, I only wanted to retrieve my serial number. I've seen threads where people have claimed they lost their serial number, and asked if someone could give them a number to use. I thought I stated in my first post, that I was not trying to do that. What's wrong with the question I asked?

I READ THE POST AND I UNDERSTOOD EVERYTHING YOU SAID...... AND I PERSONALY HATE WHEN SOMEONE ACUSES ME OF SOMETHING OR ACTS SARCASTIC FROM BEHIND A SCREEN.WHO ARE YOU TO EVEN GIVE SOMEONE THE BENEFIT OF A DOUGHT......... BASICLY WHO CARES. ALSO I'M GLAD YOU GOT THIS RESOLVED I HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH MY PRO TOOLS HD SOFTWARE.
