Ok so i load my P2 footage. It looks great. so what i do i simply export it as quicktime. I then drag the quicktime file into toast and burn. Quick and easy. Except i think i am cheating myself in the quality department. am i missing a step or two for better quality dvd hvx footage

If you try to make a SD DVD, you might very well -;)

Import to FCP
Edit

Either
1. export with compressor

or.

2. export reference file to compress with compressor (which lets you work while compressing)

or

3. export reference file and put in to your assets in DVD studio pro, right c lick on the file to set your compression settings.

Add menu(es)

Burn DVD

I never do any extra steps, always use Compressor custom presets i make myself for DVD export. I do see being able to work in FCP while exporting when doing the reference file, but its just an extra step that i dont do. The advantages of having 2 macs though.

So is this right.

1) final cut

2) export using compressor

3) burn using dvd studio pro

equals best quality dvd?
