take the audio in fcp if its a song import it into itunes go under advanced in itunes and convert the audio into a aiff file.if it doesn't say convert to aiff go in itunes prefs and change the importing to AIFF. Then convert the sond under advanced. That usually does the trick.FCP does not like mps's or wave files..
As mentioned above it may be because it isn't an aiff file. If it's an mp3- on my system it makes a clicking sound every few frames. Try converting it to an aiff and then reapply it. frame rate in your sequence should not have anything to do with the music. The song should play the same no matter if it's 29.97 or 23.98.
In my opinion Final Cut sucks for audio editing. I finally dropped some cash and bought a simple audio program. It makes audio editing a breeze compared to Final Cut. I bought the Cubase SL, which works for me, but I'd recommend for anyone else to go for Cubase SX3 if they want a user friendly program with plugin accessibility(SL does not let you use plugins, I still need Final Cut if I wish to do any EQ'ing)
DV-NTSC audio needs to be 48khz or you will get a popping/clicking sound. quick fix for songs, import it into iTunes and set your encoding prefs to AIFF 48khz, then select the song from the playlist and and choose ADVANCED from the top of the screen and select CONVERT SELECTION TO AIFF. then drag the AIFF to your desktop or your project folder or straight on to your project bin.
dont forget to reset your iTunes encode prefs back to AAC or MP3 or the next cd you rip will take up some serious drive space. and we all know how precious that is.
I've had much luck with Compressor, the program that came with FCP. Just open it up, click help, and follow the steps. It's quite simple. Click on "applications" in your finder window - I don't remember loading it, but it must have been put there during the Final Cut installation.
If you have FCP, then you have QT Pro. Open the MP3 in QT Pro and go File/Export and choose sound to AIFF. As you'll notice, there are options for the settings.
