Final Cut Pro 3- 24p compatible?

I'll soon be starting a school video project, and I plan on using the DVX100 for it. At home, I have Final Cut Pro 4, but at the school they use Final Cut Pro 3, and they'll probably prefer that I edit it at the school. I'm wondering if I try to capture footage shot in 24p on the school computers, will it drop frames or result in other problems because of the older software?

Thanks.

Roy,

Here's what to do. Shoot in the normal 24p mode, not advanced. Then when your are editing. Edit and capture at the normal 29.97 timeline. Don't worry about editing at 24fps. The normal mode is set so that you can get the look of 24fps without having to edit at that rate. The Advanced mode is for when you have an NLE and you actually want and can edit at 24fps. It uses the same type of pulldown (conversion from 24fps to 30fps) that your computer uses. So your computer knows exactly which frames to remove when you import it.

I just shot a short film in the normal 24p mode because I knew that we were never going to film, so I didn't need to edit at 24fps. You really only need to edit at 24fps if you will be going to film or will be speeding up your footage.

Anything else?

Hope that helps you out.
