Final Cut Goes Universal Binary

Yes, saw that my upgrade status (from Motion 2 to FCS) finally changed from "backordered" to "ordered."

I just talked to a guy at Apple since I still don't have a ship date and he said it shipped today so that's good news.

He also said that the upgrades get the whole box package including manuels and everything. Awesome! I can't wait!

Good news, as I also did the upgrade. What a deal for $500! Now I just have to learn how to use it (got my pro training series manuals ready).

My status changed, it now says it has shipped yesterday. The email said 3-7 business days. I am hoping for it by saturday, but whatever. The sooner the better.

Yes mine is on its way via Media Mail. Wooooo! That was about 4 business days ago. I expect it here in the next 2 days and will post how the installation went. I got the FCP 4 Upgrade to FCP Studio (FCP 5.1) for $199.:Drogar-Evil(DBG):

Mine shipped on the 29th as well. I live on Long Island, New York...I am hoping to get it Monday, but could be as late as Friday.

Media mail is the slowest form of snail mail. So I wouldn't necessarily sit by the mailbox waiting. :)

Got my copy of FCP 5.1 Studio on April 4. That didn't take that long at all. Since I sent in my original install disc from FCP 4.5, all Apple sent me was the new installer disc(s). Motion, DVD Studio Pro, Soundtrack Pro, Final Cut Pro and all the media discs (Apple Loops, Lots of Sound Samples, etc. LiveType Fonts, Tutorial files.) Installed onto my MacMini and all is working fine so far. Note: my macmini is NOT an Intel mac. So I have no idea how smooth it runs. But will look forward to getting a new 2nd Generation Intel laptop or desktop in the future. So far since I purchased my first legal version of Final Cut Pro (version 2) I've spent $900 to get to the full studio version.

Purchased FCP 2 from used book store (2003) $200
Purchased UPGRADE to FCP 4.5 (2004) $500
Purchased UPGRADE to FC STUDIO 5.1 (2006) $200

I don't think that is bad. I got so much use out of all those versions. :badputer:

Only problem is, no booklets provided with my Motion 2 to FCS upgrade. Just discs. Oh well, given that I saved $800, I think I can afford some after-market training books.
