Final Cut Express playback

I made a short video in final cut. It's 44 seconds. But when i watch it, instead of stopping when it hits 44 secs it keeps going even though the whole time line is blank. When i export it to quicktime it plays a black screen for three minutes (which is also how long the time line goes for in fce right now). Any ideas on how to fix this?

Check to make sure that there are no audio or video tracks extending beyond the end of your film that aren't readily visible in your timeline. Sometimes you have to scroll down to see material in your timeline that isn't obvious on your desktop.
