Hey i've got a question for you guys,

I just shot a short on HDV and was wondering if I could edit on final cut express and then take the rough cut into final cut studio or final cut pro without losing quality or anything. I'm not sure why I would lose quality but just wondering.

Also, a small portion of the shoot was not shot on 24p and I was wondering how that would affect the workflow. It was shot on a sony Z1

Thanks for the help

FC Express doesn't have the functionality to deal with 'real' 24p (p or pa). I don't have FCP so, my presumption is that FCP has the ability to deal wtih 24p as 24p...

I have shot a lot of 24pa with my DVX100A, and edited in FC Express, but more often than not, my 'ultimate' destination is AfterEffects, but I've left it in 29.97 fps (obviously) when using FC Express.

Should I really want to go to 23.97 I'd use AfterEffects or now that I have Premiere Pro CS3, I'd probably work with it there.
