Final Cut Crossgrade Question

I have Final Cut Pro 5 and want to upgrade to Final Cut Studio to get Final Cut Pro 5.1, but I know you have to send in your install CD.

Does the FCP 5.1 Install CD they send you include the whole program or just the update? Because I eventually want to get a new Mac Pro and would like to put the software on there. But that would be hard to do if I only had the update and not the entire FCP software.

Catch my drift?
 
Can anyone tell me how long it took for them to be delivered? I sent mine Priority Mail with delivery confirmation to the South Bend address and it shows they received it on Monday (9/25).

Any info is appreciated on your turnaround time before you got them in your hands. :)

If I remember correctly, it took about 10 days after they received it.

Be sure to keep your serial numbers. You'll need them with a new install.

the software should be shipped within 24 hours of receipt of order. I would call them and inquire what might be causing the delay.

I sent mine on Monday 25th overnight mail and prepaid to have them send me FCP studio back overnight and they (apple) claimed they never received my package! Yet someone from Apple signed for my package when it arrived. Customer Service is of no help so come Monday I plan to go above them and speak to someone with some power because this doesnt make any sense. I called C.S. 3 times before I mailed my install disc and payment and they were the ones suggesting that I send it overnight since I had a deadline to get a project done by October 6th. Now I am hearing talk of its going to take up 10 days! Frustrated is not even the word!
 
I know a few users, including myself, who got it sent to them regular postal delivery, and it took a week after it was shipped to get to me. And I'm a freakin' trainer!

I know some days the fulfilment center gets overwhelmed and is a tad slow. Apple gets complaints and then has to go crack the whip on that third party company. Sheez...

Good rule of thumb; Never think things like this, involving mail and shipping, will happen overnight. And never "rush" an upgrade to meet a deadline. Use what you have to meet deadlines, get upgrades between projects. It helps you stay sane.
 
True points made but I am an exception since my HD crashed 2 weeks ago and I had it replaced and figured instead of pointing FCP 4 on there when I had 4.5, I would just put 5.0 on there but I now know its takes up to a week. Im still gonna stay on Apple's butt about where my check/package is though.

How did things turn out? I heard that apple had a shortage of stock, so maybe this caused the delay.
