final cut 4.5 not complying with 24p capture

I shot my graduate thesis film on the DVX-100A as well as the AG-LA7200 16x9 WS Conversion Lens.
For the first 3 scenes, we didn't understand that the settings reset upon the camera turning off, thus, it reverted to LP and 24p Standard. I understand I am supposed to import this with DV 48KHZ Anamorphic and then do a reverse telecine with Cinema Tools for final export to 24p DVD. First off, I'd like to know that if it's just 3 scenes that were shot at 24p Standard (about 20 seconds of footage total), will I be able to integrate that into a 20 minute long 24P Advanced Timeline after the CT conversion?
Secondly, I am trying to capture my footage with FCP 4.5 right now, and it looks fine on the LCD but it has jagged edges on the viewer onscreen. Also, after I capture, I try and look at the clip and the viewer turns white. Eventually, FCP crashes. (This also happens when I try to capture the 24P Advanced stuff too)
I have no idea what's going on and feel I've properly followed everyone's advice for capturing.
Any help ASAP is greatly appreciated
Jeff

do you have a hack version of final cut?

Yes, after the conversion in cinema tools you will be able to throw that footage directly into a 23.98 timeline along with the 24padvanced footage.

Don't worry about jagged edges, it always looks that way upon capture. Once looking at it in either the viewer or canvas, if your RT settings are on high the footage will look good, if they are on low, the footage will look a little ugly(but easier on the machine). If your RT settings are on high, and if hooked up to an external monitor(ie thru firewire to deck to tv) it should look good. If it doesn't...

Curious on what machine you have... dual G5/G4? Possibly your machine is too slow, but if it's a machine bought in the last few years it should be fine. Don't know why your viewer turns white or why it crashes. Make sure you close the capture window once you've captured. double click a clip in the browser. It'll open in the viewer window. Press play. It should play.
Make sure your sequence settings match your captured footage settings. Try not to mix 24p and 24padvanced footage as you may get the computer confused.

In regards to your dvx reverting... if you shot in F6, it's set up specifically for 24padvanced and would never revert to anything else, unless someone changed it and saved it.
