Filters for DVX100A

Can anyone suggest a few good filters I should have for my DVX (as a starter kit) and where can I buy them? There are too many options out there...some cheap some expensive...so your help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks Linda

Yep- grab a UV and slap it on there- it'll be the best $30 you ever spent. It is much cheaper to have that filter scratched / broken, then to have you lens suffer the damage. (I leave my UV on the camera permanently.)

You should also look into some ND filters of various densities. The built ones are good, but additional ND's will give you greater control.

Latino,

Don't totally cheap out on the UV filter -- I recommend something multicoated to reduce flare. Remember, that your Leica lens will only see what passes through that UV filter. I just ordered a Hoya Supermulticoated from B&H. Other brands no doubt are better like B+W and heliopan, but Hoya is an excellent filter and a good value.

I'd go with a Hoya UV filter because they are $38 and when it needs replaced you won't feel obligated to lay down another $108 for a B+W Slim Line.

Filters become expendable, eventually.
