So i notice that the end of this lens is threaded, does that mean i can find filters to screw onto this just like i do with the dvx's lens? As well as what size, I've heard 105mm but yo no se.

I noticed the same on the century wide angle, would'nt it be nice if we could put filters on,or something clear to protect it.Not foud any yet,how do you like the 1.6x,big difference?

i havent really taken it out into the field yet, just indoors. Its not a great difference, but still much better than the original lens and at $1100 canadian it was not a bad deal. The one thing im not overly stoked about is the weight of it, it almost doubles my camera weight more so than other adapter lenses for other cameras such as the vx2000. I'm going to check around though, because it is threaded so that should mean that there is something that can be attached to it.

Hi Indo, the greatest advantage of the 1.6 is that it allows you to finally get an ECU in focus from an ordinary distance without diopters. It gives you a 60% push into the frame, but without taking away M.O.D. That has been the biggest benefit for me, since I love ECU's. i can finally get a focused shot of an someone's eye, wthout shoving the camera in their face or using a diopter.:cheesy:

Could be for a clip-on matte box, beats me.
I have never looked for a threaded filter on any of these things.

At 105mm that is 4inches diameter...
I doubt one would be any more affordable than the standard 3x3 or 4x4 squares,
especially along with added cost of a threaded brass mounting ring like B+W uses.

Although, a threaded pola might be kind of nice since it's already a pretty heavy rig
before you add rods and a matte box.. Rush, any idea if Schneider makes a threaded
Tru-Pol in the correct size for this thing?

The threads are not intended for filters--they're just part of the overall design used to hold the elements and lens barrel together. There are no filters that fit the diameter and thread count.
