filter question

I work on a cooking show and food splattering (from boiling pots, etc.) on the lens is a common problem. I definitely need a filter (72mm for dvx) What type do you think would be good for mostly indoor shooting? (clear, UV, etc.)
thanks

Go with a 72mm UV filter. They're cheap, won't affect your image indoors, clears up some haze outdoors, and are a great way to protect your lens all the time.

In addition to the uv filter, I would recommend a 1/4 or 1/8 Low contrast filter. The Low con filter will take off the steely quality of video and give you more detail in shadows when you expose for highlights. I have some examples at the link below

best viewed with firefox.

If you're shooting indoors only you definitely don't need an UV filter. It's debatable if you need an UV filter at all for video, it's more important for film, which is more sensitive to UV radiation.

The cheapest will be a clear filter - get the highest possible quality you can get.
