filter prices

Looks to me like the high-end B+W circ polarizer is $144 at BH but only $100 at EVS. Is this possible, or am I looking at two diff products?

Re: filter prices

I notice B&H prices on some items are higher than other stores. The only time I order from B&H is when they have a good deal.

Can you give me the exact model number?

Re: filter prices

The one at BH Photo is:
Mfr # 65045619 • B&H # BWKCP72

The one at EVS is:
Code: 65062161

So I guess they are different, but I'd like to know what's the difference (other than price)?

Re: filter prices

Hi Dog,
The Kaesemann filter on the B&H site is "Encased" and is much more rugged for rough environment use. The one on EVS website is the standard model, but we can get the Kaesemann just as easily. Bill Turner of Shneider optics is a regular here, and has discussed that the Kaesemann's are great for Sea-side shooting. :)
Rush.

Re: filter prices

Other than seaside, what would be considred a rough environment? Cold? Humidity? Etc?

Rush: what's the DVXuser price for the Encased filter?

I think it is extreme environments or high-salt, high-humidity. Please send me an email and I will respond on Friday morning for price, at rush@evsonline. I don't have my pricebook here at home.

Re: filter prices

Powerdog, I ordered the kaesemann filters, and I look forward to seeing you next week! ;D We can test them out before you make a decision. Maybe it's not worth the extra $40...

Re: filter prices

Highlight of my trip, Rush! Can you ask the B+W people if New England winters would be considered a harsh environment? (They sure feel harsh to me!)
