Filter Packages

Last time i was at Ritz camera in the mall. i noticed that they had filters for sale. they were buy two get one free. at about $20 a piece that means they were 3 for $40 and you can mix and match.

If you are going to shoot for fun, buy cheap filters, who cares. If however you
will shoot short films, documentaries, interviews, I would never (personally
speaking) put anything cheap in front of my lens.

Spend some time on ebay and get some b+w filters for a fraction of the cost.
Look for those that are new or like new condition with no scratches on the glass.
I bought a color correction filter for $10, brand new, camera store was clearing
out their inventory.

I would go to B&H Photo Video online store and purchase new (and used) filters.
I just bought my uv haze b+w from them. About to buy a polarize from them as
well.

My advice is to be careful where you cut corners. In front of the lens is not the
best place to cut any corners.

GO to a used still camera swap meet and buy them there.. the expensive ones like B+W will be there.. but at a lower price. Skip the cheap filters.

I'll be interested in checking out a "used still camera swap meet"? have you seen any here in california or NY?

There's a big one in O.C. every couple of months. near Knott's Berry Farm. Not sure of the contact info though...
