Filter for Century WA

Just got my .6 Wide Angle...and realized I should probabyl also get a UV filter for the front of it.

But it's not marked as to size. Since there're no stores in my area to bring the lens to check size...

Anyone know what it is?

Re: Filter for Century WA

Dan,

The specs on all our products including front diameters is given on our website. You need to click on the "specification" for the individual product.

The direct link to the specs on the DVX100 accessories is :

http://www.centuryoptics.com/products/prodv/dvx100/dvx100_chart.htm

The attachment does not accept screw-in filters directly, they would vignette due to the very wide angle of view. The outer diameter of the Century .6x is 95mm. You need a Matt Box / Sunshade that will fit a 95mm accessory that uses 4x4 filters and has a design that will not vignette with the attachment. Chrozeil, Century, Vocas, and Birns and Sawyer all offer them but be sure whom ever you talk to knows that it is the Century .6x on the DVX 100.

I do not know about the compatibility of Cavision or Formatt.

You might be able to use a 95mm to 4 1/2" or 138mm adapter and use 4 1/2" or 138mm round filters but in the long run you need a shade/matte box for 4x4's so spending several hundred dollars on large round filters and adapters would seem unwise--- even if it works.

Ah. Thanks. Guess I'll just have to be careful.
