Filter effect website

Is there a good website where they show the effect of the most popular filter like polarizer, mist etc... I would like to see picture with and without the filter so I could decide which filter I'll buy!

Re: Filter effect website

Yes thank you very mucgh there is some example of what I was looking for but I didn't find any example with graduate filter.

Re: Filter effect website

I found some example of graduated effects on the tiffen's website but I just don't like the way their website is done!

Re: Filter effect website

I will receive my copy of Magic Bullet soon and I wanted to know if it's possible to simulate the polarizer filter's effect on post?

Re: Filter effect website

What exactly are you trying to simulate? Darker skies, reflection removal from windows, more transparency through water?

You can simulate a lot of that stuff already without Magic Bullet. There is nothing specific that I am aware of that simulates that in MB.

Re: Filter effect website

I want to be able to have for example a nice blue sky when I'm shooting snowboard! The problem is that if I adjust the exposure correctly, the sky becomes a kind of very light blue!

Re: Filter effect website

disjecta, whats your opinion on saving everything for post? like is it it ossible to imitate all possible filters in post?l

Re: Filter effect website

I think "real" filters give a much more organic look than their digital equivalents. Just be sure you are commited to the look because there ain't no "undo" key on your original footage 8)

Re: Filter effect website

Definitely use real live filters such as polarizers, and grad ND filters. There's no way to mimick this in post.

Not 100% sure :-/ - Wouldn't hurt to check with Jarred.

Re: Filter effect website

the graduated filter will darken your sky but if you are shooting snow boarding your camera might not be level at all times plus you will be on an angle if you shoot from along side the boarder. The gradient will be on the good part of the image if shoot this way. If you camera is locked down then it will work because you can control the line where the sky starts and the gradient starts. I hope i said that right. I dont think i did though.

Re: Filter effect website

since were talknig about it..

a polarizer, is that a filter you drop into a matte box? or can it also be a lens attachment like say the wide angle adapter etc..

?
