Filmming in the dark?

Hi, I'm filmming a pickup scene this weekend and need some help.
the scene I'm shooting is of a little girl in the dark but with light on one side of her face and the other side in complete darkness in till she turns to show that she has been shot in the side of the head.
How do I go about setting up the lighting so that the girls face is completely split in the middle, but when she turns you can still clearly see the wound?

I'm shooting with the DVX100a and in complete darkness(save the light on her face)how do I make sure that the blacks stay black and not dark gray and the scenes not all noisey

A monitor would help and DV rack would really help.

Get your light sources and test it out, and use your zebras.

Set your dark zebras to 100%, when you see them you'll know that your crushing your blacks and there will be no detail there.

One other note you may want to place flags on the dark side so you will not get any reflective light.
