Filmmaking PODCAST

Im starting a podcast about filmmaking, cinematography, photography, and the visual arts.

First podcast will be available on http://sergykal.me/ as well as on iTunes end of May. Yay!

If you have any specific topics you want me to cover, let me know.

I'll need to research it. I only had experience with a non-functioning handgun replica on set. In my other life I was in the U.S> Army for 7 years, so I suppose I could apply things I learned there, but I'm sure there are specific things for the movie set. Doc Bernard, perhaps, you can provide some pointers on the podcast?

How about a phone interview? Or I can hook you up with an armorer in DC. He is a member here, and we think alike. I would gladly refer him to you for this.

Doc Bernard, that's great thank you. I don't have the technical means to record phone but perhaps a few written things I can post on the blog and mention in podcast with credit to you. I would like to talk to the admirer in dc as well if its possible. I can also feature your company in the podcast and on blog. I appreciate your support in this as it is a great opportunity for filmmakers to learn.

Sorry for autocorrect. Meant to say armorer. Not admirer

I think an interesting segment could be on the long scene vs short scene and how this impacts an audience. I've personally always been a fan of longer secenes that each play out like short films...but in some films it won't work.

Hi Serge- I'm the armorer Doc mentioned (he messaged me privately to point me to this thread). I'd be happy to help out with the podcast. My availability is quite limited in May, but gets much better in June. However, let me know what your schedule is and I'll see if I can get with you.

This is also an interesting concept. In one of the podcast episodes I will talk about film structure, length of shots, and the length of scenes. Perhaps thats when i can talk about the impact on audience. Pulpfiction007, thanks for the suggestion. Will address this topic.

For those interested, the podcast address is: http://sergykal.me/tagged/podcast

I will also put it on iTunes, probably under the name TAKE ONE.
The first edpisode will feature some guests (my photography teacher agreed to do a segment), next episode will be about filmmaking resources, communities, and the importance of fellow filmmakers support, 3d episode will be on Weapons safety on set. Working on details.
