hey all,

First of all, you all are the tits, and dvxuser is the most amazing video production community I have ever been a part of.

I posted this recently, http://www.dvxuser.com/V3/showthread.php?t=40715 and recieved minimal response. So i figured that the best remedy to my situation was to figure out a way to promote a community similar to dvxuser in my hometown. San Francisco has a massive filmmaking community, and the closest thing we have to dvxuser is the mac based message board http://www.sfcutters.org. I'm tired of talking about mac based production, considering how expensive it is. I own a mac and a pc, and the mac is a pipeline. someone gives me dvcpro50 and I will encode on the mac, and edit on a pc.

anyway...

I want local community, and am willing to do a lot of work for it. I've started batting around an SF based filmmaking forum, and would like feedback, especially from those of you who are sf based.

thanks everyone.

On behalf of the DVXuser community, We are pleased to accept the rank of 'tits' from your esteemed organization.

As far as your proposed SF online community, it sounds like a good idea. If it moves you, go for it. I have no specific advice other than, "good luck!". :)

thanks man, if you had any thoughts on the layout, the forum topics, etc. please let me know. I just watched the blue oyster cult sketch earlier today btw, and it broke me.

Have you tried hitting Craigslist San Francisco? You might be able to get more local connects that way. Also, if you feel like hitting the pavement, find some video shops and ask if you can post some fliers.

good ideas, thanks. I was going to try and solicit some users before i started doing internet announcements.
