Filmmaking Competition with Peter Jackson!

Has anyone seen this? Very cool, but since it's open to the entire world it's going to be almost impossible to place in the top 5. And since it's money also, I bet a lot of big businesses will be entering into it.

If you win you get to go work your butt off .. No cash prize .. No spending money plus you have to drop everything your doing in life for three weeks to go down there

direct (w/e that means because they are in total control according to the rules)

a commercial then your flown home and Peter Jackson picks the best one.

It says they will air the film in the USA but dont want it to be a commercial and its 3 minutes .. where will it air as what? IDK

if that sounds good go for it ..

Well what I mean is I don't know enough about the culture to make a film that represents it accurately. Just like no American director that I've seen has managed to capture Mexico, etc. This seems like a competition for people from New Zealand or with strong ties to the country showing their love for it through short films. I can do all the research possible, but the fact that I've not lived there takes away the experience that seems to be the point of this competition.

How are you supposed to capture what New Zealand is about if you've never been nor lived there?

It's about what it means to people, not what it's most famous landmarks are or it's population.

my job sucks i would walk out in a second at this or any film making opportunity

my wife and kids maybe pissed but i guess ill just deal with those repercussions when i get back
