Filming With Water Housings

I Have a few general questions about shooting in the ocean.

-I shoot at the surface (surfing) so water will wick away leaving waterdrops. Shooting on a sony sr-12 with hd6 equinox water housing.

1.What is the best way to get rid of water spots on the camera water housing lens?
I've tried spittin on it and it only works sometime...do i have to spit and then dip in freshwater or...? any other advice is welcome.

2. What should I soak the housing in after filming to ensure minimal corrosion from the saltwater.

I've heard of alcohol, water, etc., what works best?

Any other words of wisdom are welcome.

For water spots on the lens, I use Rain-X (the windshield stuff), which helps water run right off the lens.

I always rinse the housing in fresh water after use.

Probably not within your realm of technical know-how, but I always found it interesting how in the movie CastAway there were no drops on the lens at all. The Cinematographer invented a housing with a glass lens cover that was spinning at such a speed that the moment it left the water, all the droplets had flown off.
