Hi All,

I'l going to be filming an interactive plasma screen in a few days ( on a XH A1). I'm just wondering if there are any problems I'm going to run into with flickericng. I will be power the screen with laptop ( dvi ) connection
Am I right in saying that aslong as the image is progessivly scanned the flickering won't be a problem.

Thanks in advance

Declan

Should be no flickering from Plasma or an LCD, yes they are progressively scanned displays whereas shooting a CRT will require synchro scan adjustment in cam to stop flicker.

I would say to test it if you can.
The way plasma screens work vs LCD means that sometimes they have pulsing issues, or frames that expose differently. The most common issue is a pulsing/flicker in certain colors like skin tones.

Sometimes clearscan/sychro shutter can help get rid of this, but other times it does not. Not all plasma screens are created equal I guess.
