filming a live phone conversation... how should I do it?

I'm about to film a live conversation on the phone with someone and wanted to know the best/most effective way to do this.

Here's the potential problem: When I moved to my new place, I didn't even bother to get a landline/home phone hooked up, I just kept my cell phone instead and use that as my "home" phone. Not a problem I suppose visually but since it's a cell phone, it may be a problem in terms of audio quality. My phone is a Motorola Krzr KM-1 and does have a speakerphone option on it, should I use this you think and just set the phone down on a table and talk that way? I've never recorded a conversation over the phone and I'm worried about the audio at this point not being picked up.

Any suggestions for me regarding this? I am using a Rode NT-2 mic, so I know it will pick up the audio pretty good, just that over a cell phone, maybe the audio won't be as good as I think.

TIA,
Dale

Skype on a land line is by far your best option. Can you shoot at a place with a land line? Are you recording on a nagra? Is film a must?

I wasn't recording, but in a pinch, I once got halfway decent live sound by taping a lav mic to the earpiece of a cell phone.

If you can move this to a place with a land line, some conference phones (Polycom Soundstation in particular) have an RCA record output. There are also other options, but a Polycom might be the easiest & cheapest thing to rent for a day.

Most mobile phones have an option for you to record the call internally. Depending on the awfulness of the codec your phone uses it might be a viable option.
