Filming a chase scene with just sticks

Hey,

I've a promo to film with a chase scene and there's no money in the budget for tracks or anything that can move basically. Got a tripod, and handheld of course but prefer not to lug around a camera all day running about.

Can anyone think of a well shot chase scene or two that used tripod only to give some creative examples please.

This will be a human/running chase scene. I can only think of Marathon Man!

Is it reasonable for the camera op to shoot from the back of a truck?

Just use another another car, minivan, suv or pick up. And your sticks. You don't need money for that.

I'd make a makeshift steadicam out of a tripod with weights attached. Did that once, works pretty well if you're tracking the talent through a chase.

If it was me and I had to shoot it only on sticks I would go crazy with my angles, high, low, dutch. I would stay tight too.
