Film Transfer

This may be somewhat off-topic for this forum, but I wonder if anyone knows of a good company for film transfers. Specifically, I'm looking to convert some old 16mm footage into 1080p Pro Res files. I've used several places for conversion of old Super 8 footage into files, but haven't been too impressed by the quality.

Any suggestions appreciated!

Thanks, arnie. I live in eastern Mass. so I'm fairly close. I'll check them out.

filmtransfer.com is also ok. I actually stopped by their offices once when I was up in Chicago. Very clean environment with a whole bunch of people working hard. Although the person at the front desk didn't have a clue what she was talking about.

My understanding is that if your film is negative, they'll only put it through their Spirit HD. (They say it's to protect the film from scratches.) Great process, but expensive. For reversal, they'll do it using their standard HD process, which is still frame by frame.

And they'll give you the scan in whatever codec you want, on whatever media you want.
