Film transfer (Not sure where to post this)

Hey, I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to go to, to have 8mm film transfered to DVD? It needs to be somewhere in the LA area. Thanks!

Also, you could:
•buy a projector off eBay
•project your film on a nice clean sheet of foam core (most projector screens add unwanted textures)
•shoot the projected image with your DVX
•bring it into your NLE for editing/titling/transitions/CC/effects
•use DVD software to create DVD
•burn DVDs
•pat yourself on the back for potentially saving hundreds of dollars (depending on how many reels you want transferred)

I did this recently with some old 16mm reels from a 1959 HS football game and it worked great. The trick was finding the right combination of frame rate and shutter speed to get the smoothest motion. Just hook your camera up to a monitor and experiment until you hit the sweet spot; you'll know it when you find it.

It's just one reel, and it's not for me. It was someone who wanted to get it tranferred. Just one reel.

Ahhh.... one reel... I see... that would've been golden information prior to the typing of my last post. :cheesy: In that case, just do what Kai said, bee-otch!

Yeah, dude, sorry for making you type the looooong post... but it's good for future reference!

I need this too... looking for pro quality. I have about 30-40 reels to transfer.
